Gardening Compost
Organic fertilizers are naturally rich in nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, the three major nutrients plants need to grow. The natural environment tends to have an easier time of breaking down and absorbing organic fertilizers. One benefit of using an organic fertilizer is an increase in the biological activities in the soil. When you use a synthetic fertilizer there is no natural matter outside of the soil to encourage the development of micro organisms. Micro organisms within the soil help plants convert nutrients into food and help to break down old plant material which adds to the over all health of the soil and garden.

Poultry manure has long been recognized as the most desirable of the natural fertilizers because of its high nitrogen content. In addition, manures supply other essential plant nutrients and serve as a soil amendment by adding organic matter. Chicken manure provides more Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium to you plants than cow, steer, sheep, or horse fertilizer. Chicken manure also adds organic matter and increases the water holding capacity and beneficial biota in soil.
